A lumbar pillow cover in Japanese ceremonial silk, cut from a Japanese ceremonial obi: a tonal hikari (光, light) weave — close-toned cream and pearl, present without announcement, no figurative motif. Envelope-pocket back, undyed linen reverse, no metal against the silk; 50 × 30 cm. For pale, restful interiors. Spot clean only. Unrepeatable, finished at the Renaras atelier, Amsterdam.

Hikari. Light. The quiet field of a household textile that anchored a Japanese drawer for decades — a silk of restraint, present without announcement.

The ground is a quiet field of warm tonal weave — the kind of obi that anchored a household textile drawer for decades without ever needing to announce itself. The colours sit close in tone, the surface alive with the subtle play of light across silk fibre. The cream gives the composition its calm. The pearl gives it its luminance.

A pillow for white linen sofas, ivory beds, rooms where stillness is cultivated — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared table.

The face is the original silk, backed in undyed linen. Envelope pocket closure. No metal touches the visible silk.

Shipping

Free shipping across Europe. Delivered within 3–5 business days. International shipping available — contact us for rates. All pieces are wrapped individually in tissue and despatched in a rigid, protective box.

Returns

Returns accepted within 14 days of receipt, provided the piece is returned in its original condition. As every textile is singular and unrepeatable, we ask that pieces are handled with care. Please contact us before returning. Read the full returns policy.

Care

Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
