Curator's Kit. The hardware side of the Renaras atelier.

Renaras designs and reimagines existing Japanese ceremonial silk into contemporary pieces for daily life. The Curator's Kit is what the silk needs around it — wooden display bars for tapestries, and patchin handles that turn a furoshiki cloth into a carried bag. Made to pair with our textiles, sold as standalone objects to anyone who already holds a Japanese silk worth presenting.

Tapestry bars are hand-finished in pairs — one for the top edge, one for the bottom — so a textile hangs flat against the wall and the pattern reads at a metre's distance. Furoshiki patchins are turned from hardwood, sized and shaped for the weight of a knotted furoshiki bag, with magnetic closure that never touches the visible silk. Neither is varnished beyond what the wood needs. Each piece is finished at our Amsterdam atelier.
