Tsugihagi no hikari. Light gathered from many cloths. A kaleidoscopic patchwork of obi weaving techniques, held together by a single champagne gold palette.
The silk is warm metallic gold with a champagne lustre, built as a banded patchwork that moves through several distinct weaving languages: asanoha hemp-leaf geometry, wave forms, abstract textile passages, smooth lamé panels, and embossed brocaded sections. Pale silver, cream beige, dusty sage, and faint copper thread the composition together. The hand changes across the surface — some passages smooth, some raised, some matte. A single piece of cloth holding the memory of many techniques.
A bag for daytime in cities that reward looking closely — a museum, a private view, a long lunch where the table sees the bag.
The silk is the original obi face, designed and finished into a knot bag at the Renaras atelier. Knotted self-closure, silk lining. No metal touches the silk. No clasp, no hardware, no zip.
Renaras: Japanese ceremonial silk, reimagined for daily life.
Each piece arrives with its own passport from the atelier — a small handmade record of the silk's first life and its transformation, signed and dated in Amsterdam.

Care
Care
Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
