Ōgi to hana. Folding fans and flowers, joined as fields. A banded patchwork of classical obi motifs — ōgi fans, kiku, peonies, kikkō hexagons, and stylised waves — held in muted dusty pastels.

The silk is warm cream with ivory undertones and the slight softness of age. Across the body, several distinct motif fields join in banded composition: ōgi folding fans, kiku chrysanthemums, peonies, the kikkō hexagonal lattice, and stylised waves. Each field carries its own palette in muted dusty pastels — dusty pink, pale gold, soft taupe, faded sage — and the whole is threaded subtly with gold and silver. The cloth holds the lustre of a high-quality brocade with the patience of something lived with.

A bag for occasions that warrant softness — a slow lunch with someone you love, an old hotel bar, a Sunday gallery in late summer.

The silk is the original obi face, designed and finished into a knot bag at the Renaras atelier. Knotted self-closure, silk lining. No metal touches the silk. No clasp, no hardware, no zip.

Renaras: Japanese ceremonial silk, reimagined for daily life.

Each piece arrives with its own passport from the atelier — a small handmade record of the silk's first life and its transformation, signed and dated in Amsterdam.

Returns

Returns accepted within 14 days of receipt, provided the piece is returned in its original condition. As every textile is singular and unrepeatable, we ask that pieces are handled with care. Please contact us before returning. Read the full returns policy.

Care

Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
