Matsukaze. The wind through pines. The sound a Japanese poet would name before naming the trees themselves, woven here in real kinran across a pewter ground.
The ground is pewter silk, brushed with long horizontal currents — the moving air made visible. Pines rise through the field in real kinran thread: gold foil wound over a silk core, the technique that gives Nishijin brocade its particular shimmer, alive rather than flat. Sage, ivory and aged gold shape the canopies. Silver carries the weather across the silk. The pewter gives the composition its stillness. The gold gives it its movement.
A pine that holds the room from January through December — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared table.
Face and reverse are both original obi silk — the patterned face on one side, the silver silk of the obi back on the other. The pillow can be turned. Envelope pocket closure. No metal touches the visible silk.

Care
Care
Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
