Kumo no niwa. The garden of clouds. The classical Japanese motif of drifting kasumi — atmospheric haze rendered as form rather than absence, the silk of seasonal transition.
Cloud bands move across the silk in soft coral, sage, lavender-grey and aged peach, each shape held by a contour line of pearlised gold thread. The contour technique is characteristic of fine Nishijin work — running-water spirals and current-lines woven directly into the cloth, defining edges the way ink defines a brushstroke. The colours sit close in tone but never repeat. The gold gives the composition its outline. The coral and sage give it its breath.
A pillow for the in-between weeks of the year, for rooms that hold light softly — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared table.
Face and reverse are both original obi silk — the patterned face on one side, the silver silk of the obi back on the other. The pillow can be turned. Envelope pocket closure. No metal touches the visible silk.

Care
Care
Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
