Kasumi no hi. A day held inside mist. A nearly solid silk in warm camel, crossed by a ghostly band of olive-grey, as if natural plant dyes have been laid down by hand.

The silk is muted warm tan with grey-green undertones, matte and slightly textured — a tsumugi-character cloth that holds light without reflecting it. Across the body a broad band of dusty olive-grey moves horizontally, blending into pale beige and faded fawn. There is no figural motif, no metallic thread; what reads instead is the slow gradation of plant dye, the kind of cloth that records its making in its surface. The composition is entirely about atmosphere.

A bag for the kind of days when nothing needs proving — a linen shirt, a quiet bookshop, an afternoon walk that lasts longer than planned.

The silk is the original obi face, designed and finished into a knot bag at the Renaras atelier. Knotted self-closure, silk lining. No metal touches the silk. No clasp, no hardware, no zip.

Renaras: Japanese ceremonial silk, reimagined for daily life.

Each piece arrives with its own passport from the atelier — a small handmade record of the silk's first life and its transformation, signed and dated in Amsterdam.

Care

Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
