Inazuma. Lightning across a ploughed field. Bold zigzag diagonals of gold and sage slice across a patchwork of deep oxblood and chocolate brown silk panels.
The silk is deep oxblood red with brown depth, woven in a finely ribbed tsumugi-character cloth that carries texture in the hand as much as in the eye. Across the body, panels of chocolate brown, mustard gold, sage green, and dusty rose sit in irregular composition, crossed by bold diagonal zigzag lines worked in gold and sage. The graphic is non-traditional — an obi designer working at the edge of abstraction. The metallic thread is subtle, kept inside the diagonal lines themselves.
A bag for confident weekdays — a charcoal suit, a leather notebook, an architect's afternoon walk to a meeting that matters.
The silk is the original obi face, designed and finished into a knot bag at the Renaras atelier. Knotted self-closure, silk lining. No metal touches the silk. No clasp, no hardware, no zip.
Renaras: Japanese ceremonial silk, reimagined for daily life.
Each piece arrives with its own passport from the atelier — a small handmade record of the silk's first life and its transformation, signed and dated in Amsterdam.

Care
Care
Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
