Kurenai. The crimson of ceremonial authority. Among the most technically demanding dyes in the traditional Japanese palette — woven here in three dimensions through the Shijira-ori technique.
The ground is dyed in kurenai, deep crimson historically associated with aristocratic presence and ceremonial authority. The Shijira-ori weave sculpts the surface into a rhythmic three-dimensional topography of peaks and channels, each catching and releasing light differently as the angle changes. Disciplined structural bands of obsidian and pale crimson bisect the surface at measured intervals. The kurenai gives the composition its temperature. The dimensional weave gives it its presence.
A runner that turns the daily table into something a little finer — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared meal.
The runner is lined in undyed silk to protect the face. No metal touches the visible silk.

Care
Care
Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
