Tenshō. The oldest written form. Seal script — the calligraphy of imperial seals and bronze ritual vessels, the script of authority, law and sacred record — woven here across a gold silk ground.

Across the entire gold field, rows of tenshō characters are woven in a kaleidoscope of colour: vermilion, teal, steel blue, lavender, sage green, burgundy, cream, gold. Each character occupies its own chromatic space, the angular, architectural forms constructed thread by thread on the loom. This is not calligraphy written on silk — it is calligraphy built within the weave. The gold gives the composition its ground. The chromatic characters give it its voice.

A pillow for studies, libraries, rooms that read close — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared table.

The face carries the multicolour seal-script field. The reverse is finished in the obi's original satin — champagne or saffron-gold depending on the section. Envelope pocket closure. No metal touches the visible silk.

Renaras: Japanese ceremonial silk, reimagined for daily life.

Each piece arrives with its own passport from the atelier — a small handmade record of the silk's first life and its transformation, signed and dated in Amsterdam.

Shipping

Free shipping across Europe. Delivered within 3–5 business days. International shipping available — contact us for rates. All pieces are wrapped individually in tissue and despatched in a rigid, protective box.

Returns

Returns accepted within 14 days of receipt, provided the piece is returned in its original condition. As every textile is singular and unrepeatable, we ask that pieces are handled with care. Please contact us before returning. Read the full returns policy.

Care

Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
