A lumbar pillow cover in Japanese ceremonial silk, cut from a Nishijin fukuro obi (袋帯): sensu (扇子, folding fans) opening across champagne silk to reveal gardens within gardens. Envelope-pocket back, no metal against the silk; 50 × 31 cm (also 36 × 31 cm). For soft, layered interiors. Spot clean only. Unrepeatable, finished at the Renaras atelier, Amsterdam.
Sensu. The folding fan as world. The Japanese folding fan — invented in Kyoto centuries ago, surface for poetry and painting alike — opening here across champagne silk to reveal gardens within gardens.
Across a luminous champagne-gold ground, open sensu folding fans float among tatewaku rising-cloud bands, cascading white ume plum branches, and circular mon crests bearing butterflies and waves. Each fan is rendered in coral-pink with a hishi diamond ground and contains its own botanical scene — orchids and bamboo in teal and vermilion, chrysanthemums in autumn palette, delicate wild flora. The champagne gives the composition its breath. The coral fans give it its focus.
A pillow for navy sofas, ivory daybeds, Parisian interiors where considered objects are welcomed — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared table.
The face carries the sensu composition. The reverse is finished in the obi's original champagne satin — soft, luminous, perfectly quiet. Envelope pocket closure. No metal touches the visible silk.

Care
Care
Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
