A lumbar pillow cover in Japanese ceremonial silk, cut from a Nishijin fukuro obi (袋帯): the goshoguruma (御所車, imperial court carriage) turning in silver and gold across a luminous ground, in the picture-scroll tradition. Envelope-pocket back, no metal against the silk; 50 × 31 cm. For silver-toned, narrative interiors. Spot clean only. Unrepeatable, finished at the Renaras atelier, Amsterdam.

Goshoguruma. The imperial palace carriage. The vehicle of classical Japanese court nobility — woven here in silver and gold across silk that echoes the picture-scroll tradition.

Across a luminous ground, the goshoguruma — the gosho carriage of Japanese imperial court culture — turns in metallic silver thread, surrounded by seasonal florals in gold, vermilion and azure. The composition borrows from the emakimono picture-scroll narrative tradition, time and beauty unfolding together across silk. The silver gives the composition its court. The florals give it its season.

A pillow for ivory, charcoal, dark walnut, rooms with one collected object — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared table.

The face is the original silk, backed in undyed linen. Envelope pocket closure. No metal touches the visible silk.

Shipping

Free shipping across Europe. Delivered within 3–5 business days. International shipping available — contact us for rates. All pieces are wrapped individually in tissue and despatched in a rigid, protective box.

Returns

Returns accepted within 14 days of receipt, provided the piece is returned in its original condition. As every textile is singular and unrepeatable, we ask that pieces are handled with care. Please contact us before returning. Read the full returns policy.

Care

Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
