Against a warm gold silk ground, the silhouette of Fujisan rises in muted celadon, pale blush and haze-blue, its snow-capped summit threaded in shimmering silver and platinum that catches light like frost at first sun. The atmospheric, watercolour-like gradation of colour is not printed — it is woven, thread by thread. The gold gives the composition its dawn. The silver gives the summit its frost.
