A lumbar pillow cover in Japanese ceremonial silk, cut from a Nishijin fukuro obi (袋帯): yūsoku-mon (有職, the codified patterns of the imperial court — karakusa, sayagata, hanabishi) in diagonal bands across coral silk. Envelope-pocket back, no metal against the silk; 50 × 31 cm (also 36 × 31 cm). For warm, heraldic interiors. Spot clean only. Unrepeatable, finished at the Renaras atelier, Amsterdam.

Yūsoku-mon. The patterns of the imperial court. The codified textile vocabulary of the Japanese imperial court — karakusa, sayagata, hanabishi — woven here in diagonal bands across coral silk.

Across a warm coral-terracotta silk ground, diagonal bands of different classical textile patterns cross and overlap at dynamic angles: karakusa arabesque scrollwork in burnished gold, sayagata key-fret geometry in teal and cerulean, hanabishi floral crests in sage-green and crimson. The effect is kaleidoscopic — a textile that reveals different layers depending on where the eye rests. The coral gives the composition its warmth. The crossing bands give it its conversation.

A pillow for navy sofas, cream linen daybeds, Parisian rooms with herringbone parquet — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared table.

The face carries the court pattern composition. The reverse is finished in the obi's original gold satin with a refined sayagata diamond weave. Envelope pocket closure. No metal touches the visible silk.

Shipping

Free shipping across Europe. Delivered within 3–5 business days. International shipping available — contact us for rates. All pieces are wrapped individually in tissue and despatched in a rigid, protective box.

Returns

Returns accepted within 14 days of receipt, provided the piece is returned in its original condition. As every textile is singular and unrepeatable, we ask that pieces are handled with care. Please contact us before returning. Read the full returns policy.

Care

Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
