A lumbar pillow cover in Japanese ceremonial silk, cut from a Nishijin fukuro obi (袋帯): the hōō (鳳凰, phoenix) moving through kiri (桐, paulownia) crests in metallic gold on a champagne ground — twinned imperial motifs. Undyed linen reverse, envelope-pocket back, no metal against the silk; 50 × 31 cm. For ivory linen and cream daybeds. Spot clean only. Unrepeatable, finished at the Renaras atelier, Amsterdam.
Hōō and kiri. The phoenix and the paulownia — twinned symbols of the imperial household, rendered here in champagne silk and metallic gold.
Against a luminous champagne silk ground, the hōō phoenix moves through fields of kiri paulownia crests in heavy metallic gold thread. The kiri — once reserved for the imperial household and the highest court ranks — and the hōō, the bird of harmonious rule, share a composition rendered in the disciplined Nishijin manner. The champagne gives the composition its warmth. The gold gives it its lineage.
A pillow for ivory linen, cream daybeds, rooms with warm-toned ceramics — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared table.
The face is the original silk, backed in undyed linen. Envelope pocket closure. No metal touches the visible silk.

Care
Care
Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
