The Azure Breeze is a Japanese Ro summer kimono — a Komon (小紋, all-over pattern) garment in the Ro (絽) technique, the classic Japanese summer weave in which horizontal bands of transparent gauze are integrated into the fabric at regular intervals, allowing air to circulate against the skin and creating the cool lightness that makes Ro the classic warm-weather kimono cloth. Against a deep indigo-blue ground in a geometric Kasuri-inspired lattice, graceful sprigs of summer wildflowers — clematis, bellflower, blush and white — drift across the hem and shoulder with the effortless informality of a Japanese garden in July.

It is crafted from a high-quality technical fibre that replicates the visual lightness and drape of Ro silk while offering what ceremonial silk cannot: it can be gently laundered at home, folded into a suitcase and emerge ready to wear, and worn through a Mediterranean summer evening without concern for humidity or spillage. For garden parties, gallery openings, coastal dinners, the kind of warm-weather occasions where nothing from the Western wardrobe feels quite right. The most accessible entry point into the collection — and the most frequently worn piece in it.

Each garment arrives with a passport from the atelier — a handmade record of its provenance, its construction, and its presentation, signed and dated in Amsterdam.
