Akane-ito. The thread of madder root. The colour the Japanese textile tradition draws from the rubia plant — slow, deep, never industrial — held here in a structured tonal weave.

The runner is drawn from a Japanese ceremonial silk obi — a double-faced silk carrying a structured tonal weave in akane madder red, the colour shifting between depth and warmth depending on the hour. The structure is built into the warp and weft — pattern and silk inseparable. The akane gives the composition its grounded warmth. The structure gives it its quiet.

A runner that turns the daily table into something a little finer — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared meal.

Reversible double-faced silk. No metal touches the visible silk.

Renaras: Japanese ceremonial silk, reimagined for daily life.

Each piece arrives with its own passport from the atelier — a small handmade record of the silk's first life and its transformation, signed and dated in Amsterdam.

Care

Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
