Collection: Shop The Phoenix Reborn Atelier: Vintage Japanese Kimono & Silk Garments — Uchikake, Furisode & Homongi

There are garments that clothe the body. And then there are garments that carry a civilisation.

The Phoenix Reborn Atelier is Renaras's collection of vintage Japanese silk garments — authentic Uchikake ceremonial wedding robes, Furisode long-sleeved formal kimono, and Homongi visiting kimono — each a singular object of textile heritage, offered to the European wardrobe for the first time.

Worn by history. Carried by you.

Every piece in this collection originates from the highest tier of Japanese ceremonial dress: silk grounds woven in the Nishijin tradition of Kyoto, hand-embroidered with Koma needle technique, finished in Kinpaku gold leaf thread and the botanical and mythological motifs — Ho-o phoenix, Kiku chrysanthemum, Botan peony, Imperial Kiri Paulownia — that governed the visual language of Japanese court and ceremony for over a thousand years.

What the Phoenix Reborn Atelier offers is not costume. It is the original.

A Renaras vintage Uchikake worn to a gala, a gallery opening, or a private dinner does not reference Japanese culture — it is Japanese culture, in its most material and magnificent form. A Furisode styled with contemporary European tailoring is not fusion — it is the confident assertion that beauty, wherever it originates, belongs wherever it is understood.

The garments in this collection range from wearable vintage Homongi and washable summer Ro kimono at accessible luxury price points, to the supreme rarity of hand-embroidered Uchikake and Karaori weaves — among the most technically accomplished textiles ever produced in the Japanese tradition.

Each piece is one of a kind. Each has a story that began in a Kyoto atelier decades ago and continues, now, wherever you choose to wear it.
