Shiranami — white-crested waves — run the length of this cloth as concentric arcs of tightly packed gold and silver float threads, the crests curling back on themselves, with small coral-red forms set into the foam. On a champagne ground the metallic lines behave like water: flat light reads them as pattern, side light reads them as movement. Nothing else on the cloth moves.
Renaras designs and reimagines existing Japanese ceremonial silk into contemporary pieces for daily life — this is the Renaras mottainai: the bringing of new imagination into a living tradition. Woven once for ceremony, the obi was cut at the Renaras atelier in Amsterdam into a runner for the foot of the bed, 238 cm of it, falling over both sides of a 180 or 200 cm mattress, with three cushions for the head: one carrying the waves, two in plain champagne silk, still water at the head.
Each cushion closes with an envelope pocket, the runner is backed in plain silk, and no metal touches the silk anywhere.
The set arrives with the Renaras Passport, a small handmade record of the silk's first life and its transformation, signed and dated in Amsterdam.

Every acquisition leaves the atelier in Amsterdam wrapped in furoshiki, accompanied by its Renaras passport, and travels with tracking. Pieces are dispatched within 1–3 working days.
Complimentary delivery within the Netherlands, the European Union and the United Kingdom. Other destinations: €35 under €100, €60 from €100, complimentary from €750; import duties are payable on delivery.
Returns
Returns
Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery, provided the piece is returned in its original condition. Within the European Union, the atelier provides a prepaid return label. Care
Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
