A lumbar pillow cover in Japanese ceremonial silk, cut from a Nishijin fukuro obi (袋帯): the zuiun (瑞雲, auspicious cloud) drifting in gold and silver thread across champagne-white silk. Undyed linen reverse, envelope-pocket back, no metal against the silk; 50 × 31 cm (also 36 × 31 cm). For Scandinavian linen and pale interiors. Spot clean only. Unrepeatable, finished at the Renaras atelier, Amsterdam.
Zuiun. The auspicious cloud. Long associated in Japanese decorative culture with great fortune — drifting cloud bands woven here across champagne-white silk in the visual vocabulary of classical Japanese picture scrolls.
Across a champagne-white silk ground, drifting banks of zuiun cloud are rendered in textured gold and silver metallic thread. Between them, vermilion and azure wild flora appear in restrained vignettes — negative space and detail held in deliberate balance. The cool luminosity of the ground makes this piece exceptionally adaptable. The white gives the composition its space. The gold gives it its drift.
A pillow for Scandinavian linen, the velvet arm of a chesterfield, Belgian cotton beds — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared table.
The face is the original silk, backed in undyed linen. Envelope pocket closure. No metal touches the visible silk.

Care
Care
Spot clean only — these are ceremonial silks, not washable textiles. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the depth of colour. The envelope pocket closure requires no zip or metal clasp touching the silk: this is intentional. Mottainai — nothing wasted, nothing forced.
